Day 1 - Your Favorite Song
When I read the Challenge rules, I was like, dang! they made the first one the hardest. I mean how can I possibly determine my FAVORITE song? Favorite? But I've got like twenty favs! I went through playlist after playlist on iTunes to figure this one out. After a few days and much consideration, I think I have determined that Cyndi Lauper's "All Through The Night" (1984; originally written by Jules Shear) is my favorite song. The message of not needing a past, of only needing a feeling of love and guts to move forward really touches me. Cyndi's voice, particularly in this YouTube clip of the song, is incredible. Plus, for whatever reason, the musical break near the end reminds me everytime of Chocobo music from Final Fantasy, and I just love it.
All Through The Night Lyrics
All through the night I'll be awake and I'll be with you
All through the night this precious time when time is new.
Oh all through the night today
Knowing that we feel the same without saying.
We have no past we won't reach back
Keep with me forward all through the night.
And once we start the meter clicks
And it goes running all through the night
until it ends there is no end.
All through the night stray cat is crying so stray cat sings back.
All through the night they have forgotten what by day they lack.
Oh under those white street lamps there is a little chance they may see.
We have no past we won't reach back
Keep with me forward all through the night.
And once we start the meter clicks
And it goes running all through the night
until it ends there is no end.
Keep with me forward all through the night.
And once we start the meter clicks
And it goes running all through the night
until it ends there is no end.
*music break*
Oh
the sleep in your eyes is enough
Let me be there
let me stay there a while.
We have no past we won't reach back
Keep with me forward all through the night.
And once we start the meter clicks
And it goes running all through the night
until it ends there is no end.
Keep with me forward all through the night.
And once we start the meter clicks
And it goes running all through the night
until it ends there is no end.
